These reasons speak for themselves. A few volunteered comments add further light on the attitude of some women homosexuals to heterosexual experience:

(I had four heterosexual experiences because)..."I wished to be certain that I received no satisfaction sexually from a male..." (This from a woman who married to please her family, and rates herself an exclusive homosexual.)

"I enjoy sex with either men or women physically, but have never been in love with any man (except for present therapist!)" (This case rates herself now as predominantly homosexual.)

It is also interesting that, in addition to the 43 persons once married, an additional 60 have at some time considered
